Gel Breaker Tubes是一个0.5 mL的管，有四个10μm的孔，用于破碎丙烯酰胺和琼脂糖凝胶片。将凝胶切片放置在破胶管内，然后将Gel Breaker Tubes堆叠到2mL微凝胶管中。以14000rpm离心使凝胶移动通过孔，使凝胶碎裂。然后可以加入水或缓冲液以洗脱DNA或RNA。碎片状的凝胶片足够小，1 mL移液管j端可以拾取凝胶片，从而可以轻松地转移到5μm的过滤管中。

The gel breaker tube is a 0.5 mL tube with four 10μm holes designed to fragment acrylamide and agarose gel slices. The gel slice is placed inside the gel breaker tube which is then stacked into a 2 mL microfuge tube. Centrifugation at 14,000 rpm allows the gel to move through the holes, fragmenting the gel. Water or buffer can then be added to elute out the DNA or RNA. The fragmented gel pieces are small enough that a 1 mL pipet tip will pick up the gel pieces, allowing easy transfer to the 5μm filter tubes.
